Sunflower Seeds Butter

Sunflower Seeds Butter is a delicious 1 ingredient nut-free, dairy-free butter or a spread and a healthy alternative to normal butter.

  • Sunflower seeds I used 1 cup - 280 grams

Instructions

  • Remove any impurities from the seeds.

Roasting of seeds

  • In a heavy bottom pan or pot, on slow, roast the sunflower seeds until golden brown.

  • One can roast it in a pre-heated oven for 5-10 minutes at 180 Deg C, turning in between.
  • One can roast the sunflower seeds in an oven or air fryer or simply on a stovetop. I have used
  • Remove in a pate and let the seeds cool completely.

Making butter from sunflower seeds

  • Add all the seeds in a powerful grinder or a food processor.
  • Process on the slowest speed to a fine powder. This should take around 1-2 minutes at the max.

  • Now stop and scrape the sides and the bottom.
  • Wait for a minute and process it till you see it starts releasing oil. This should be done in 1-2 minutes.

  • Wait again for a minute and then on medium speed process for 1-2 minute. After this the mixture turns into a ball shape. Do not worry if it does not turn for you.

  • Once it has got to that stage, wait again for a few minutes. Now process the mixture again on a high speed.

  • Keep on doing this until you get a soft butter like consistency.
    Smooth Butter
  • The butter would be slightly warm due to the use of machine. Let it cool completely.
  • Store this in an air-tight sterile container. Keep refrigerated.

  • Any quantity of seeds can be used.

  • I have detailed the time and way you would need to process the seeds to get a smooth butter.
