Tofu Bhurji or Indian-style Tofu Scramble

Ingredients

  • 200 grams - 1 Cup Silken Tofu
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 small tomato chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1-2 green chilies chopped as per taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder Optional or as per taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • ¼ Cup fresh chopped coriander

Instructions

  • In a heavy bottom pan add oil
    1 teaspoon oil
  • Once hot add cumin seeds and let it splutter.

  • Once done, add chopped onions and green chilies.

  • Saute until onions are translucent.
    Onions cooked until translucent.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes, and turmeric powder and cook further until the tomatoes are done.

    Tomatoes added to mixture.
  • Tomatoes cooked until done.
  • Add the tofu, red chili powder, and salt.
    200 grams - 1 Cup Silken Tofu, ½ teaspoon red chili powder, Salt
    Silken tofu added.
  • Mix everything and cook until the water almost evaporates from the tofu mixture.
    Tofu mixed and being cooked to make bhurji.
  • Add chopped coriander, garam masala, and finally mix everything.
    ¼ Cup fresh chopped coriander, 1/2 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Switch off and serve.
    Everything mixed and ready Tofu Bhurji.

  • 1 Cup = 235 ml, 1 tablespoon= 15 ml, 1 teaspoon = 5 ml
  • Measurements are a rough guide. One can adjust as per requirement.
