Buttery Spiced Apple Sauce With Jaggery

Make buttery spiced apple sauce with jaggery, fresh apples, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg. This small-batch recipe is ready in about 20 minutes.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 1.5 Cups

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Apples 260 g, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup Jaggery गुड़
  • 3 tablespoon Butter
  • ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon दालचीनी
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg जायफल, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • ½ teaspoon Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
    3 tbsp Butter
  • Add the chopped apples and jaggery. Stir to coat the apples.
2 medium Apples, 1 cup Jaggery
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, until the jaggery starts to melt. Lower the heat if it begins to catch on the pan.
  • Stir in the cinnamon. Gradually add the milk, then add the nutmeg and salt.
¼ tsp Cinnamon, ¼ tsp Nutmeg, ¼ cup Milk, ¼ tsp Salt
  • Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are very soft. If they are still firm, cook a little longer.
  • Mash with a potato masher for a chunky sauce, or carefully blend for a smoother texture.
  • Turn off the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and let the sauce cool before serving.
    ½ tsp Lemon Juice
