No Bread Buckwheat Vermicelli Toast

No Bread Buckwheat Vermicelli Toast, or Millet Vermicelli Toast is an easy vegan toast that uses gluten-free flour buckwheat.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Buckwheat Flour
  • 2 tablespoon Vermicelli - ¼ cup
  • ¼ cup Cabbage chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Pepper/Capsicum
  • 1 Amla / Gooseberry chopped - Optional.
  • 2 garlic cloves medium size - grated/minced.
  • ¼ inch ginger grated/minced.
  • Salt
  • 2 Green Chilli Finely chopped.
  • ¼ cup Coriander
  • 1-2 Cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil/ Vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Vermicelli Optional - For topping

Instructions

Preparing the batter

  • In a large bowl add the buckwheat flour, vermicelli, vegetables, garlic, ginger, coriander, green chili, and salt.
    ¼ cup Buckwheat Flour, 2 tablespoon Vermicelli, ¼ cup Cabbage, 2 tablespoon Pepper/Capsicum, 2 garlic cloves, ¼ inch ginger, Salt, 2 Green Chilli, ¼ cup Coriander, 1 Amla / Gooseberry
  • Mix everything initially with ½ cup water.
    1-2 Cup water
  • If required add more water a tablespoon at a time to get a smooth-dropping consistency batter.
  • Let the batter rest for at least 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, check the batter. The flour might have gone thick as it tends to absorb water.
  • If it has gone thick, add a tablespoon of water to make a smooth-dropping consistency batter.

Preparing the Toast

  • Heat the toaster.
  • Once the toaster is hot, grease with oil or butter.
    1 tablespoon Olive Oil/ Vegetable oil
  • Spread some vermicelli on the toaster plate. (Optional)
  • Add 2-3 tablespoons (or depending on the size of your toaster plate) of batter in each toaster plate and spread it.
  • Spread some vermicelli on top. (Optional)
  • Toast it for 8-10 minutes.
  • If it's not done, continue cooking for more than 3-4 minutes. Do check in between as the cooking times of all toasters are different.
  • If required, flip and cook on the other side. (Again it depends on your toaster settings)
  • Once done, remove and serve.
