Want to involve your kids in cooking or looking for some activities to keep them busy then try this 2 ingredient Crunchy Chocolate Cornflakes or Chocolate Cornflakes Cakes.

They are Simple, quick and yummy and require little or no supervision depending on age. This is my son’s recipe which generally he makes with rice crisp. We did not had any rice krispie so we substituted it with cornflakes.
#LittleChefs
So why am I talking about cooking with kids today? This week’s 243 theme for foodiemonday is #littlechefs. Recipes which kids can cook with or without supervision. The theme was suggested by Priya who blogs at The World Through my Eyes and I am in love with her Bread Pizza with Chutney.

Activities with kids
I always say that get your kids involved in cooking. Yes it is a mess it is fussy at times, but then worth it. You create wonderful memories and also they learn a lot and something which will be used throughout their life.
I have involved my kids at a very young age. When they were babies they used to play with the dough and make small roti on their playing rolling board. This helped me to make my stuff while keeping them busy and they used to think they are helping mumma.
Like for 3-5 yr old it can be simple activities like cracking an egg, putting flour, masalas or adding any stuff in a bowl, opening packets and refilling bottles or jars, etc.

My son has been involved happily in baking with me since he was 4.5. I have a video where he was happily mixing the batter using a hand mixer, of course with supervision.
He even loves to help me in Indian cooking and can shape and make dosa (pic on Instagram), make roti, and even snacks like matri. He has even cooked roti 3-4 times and once he wanted to fry at the age of 8. I was very apprehensive for this, but helped him with 1 batch with supervision.
So enough of bragging about my son and lets come to the point. When I told this to my so about the theme he first wanted to make a cake and then he shifted to cookies. We were about to start but then suddenly he remembered this chocolate crisp.
I was happy as that was way quicker, plus the younger one wanted to help his brother too. So something which both can do without any fights or complaints.

Recipes which my son made and are on my blog
I have few recipes where it was made by my son from scratch with little supervision. These Chocolate Chip Cookies and Eggless Whole Wheat Chocolate Cupcakes. He also bakes his Double Chocolate Whole Wheat Banana Cake.
Today’s Recipe
So today’s recipe of Crunchy Chocolate Cornflakes is quite simple. All you have to do is melt chocolate and add lightly crush cornflakes. Mix everything and let it set. That’s it. One can add butter and sweetener in this recipe, I have not added as I wanted to use 100 percent my son’s recipe. Also we have used milk chocolate here which has some portion of sugar so sugar actually is not required.
