Indian style rich, creamy, and addictive this Spicy Avocado Coriander chutney would be your new go-to spread or dip for bread, crackers, dosa, or as a dressing for your salads.
It is bursting with flavors from fresh coriander, avocado, chili, ginger, and lime. Avocado gives it the necessary creamy texture. Coriander and lemon juice add to the freshness and chili and ginger give it the necessary kick.
This chutney is also a good way to add avocado to your diet. Few do not like avocado or the taste of it. Making a chutney by adding coriander, lemon, etc enhances its taste.
Chutneys are a part of Indian meals. Chutney elevates the taste and also helps in adding different spices, fiber, and nutrients to your daily diet. Consuming it fresh is advisable though we cannot do that every day with our busy lives.
I do make different chutneys and vary them every week so we get the best of all. Green coriander chutney and this Sonth (Tamarind and Jaggery Chutney) are always there in my fridge.
And This Easy Green Tomato Chutney is my most famous chutney on the blog. A good way to preserve those fresh garden harvests.
Ingredients used in today’s Spicy Avocado Coriander Chutney
Avocado
Is the main ingredient of the recipe. Use ripe avocado to get the best of this chutney.
Coriander
Another main ingredient in the recipe. Use the leaves and the fresh tender stalks. Do not discard the stalks. One can replace it with parsley or cilantro, though the taste would change.
Green chili, ginger
Adds the necessary kick and spice to the chutney.
Garlic
Adds a kick again and a nice taste. I sometimes add and sometimes skip so it is optional.
Lemon / Lime juice
Adds a nice tang to the chutney and keeps it fresh.
Water
To make the chutney to a smooth consistency.
How to make Spicy Avocado Coriander Chutney
The recipe is a very easy no-cook recipe. Add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend to a smooth paste.
Dietary suggestions
This is Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free.
Shelf life of Spicy Avocado Coriander Chutney
This chutney will stay good for 2-3 days in the fridge. It might turn a little dark in color due to the avocado, so best to use fresh.
Can this chutney be frozen?
Yes, the chutney can be frozen. Fill the chutney into ice molds and freeze it. Once frozen, one can remove and store it in a zip-lock or air-tight container.
