Frying Banana Chips
Banana Chips are one of my favorite snacks since I was a kid. I did not like the store-bought ones, as I could smell a lot of coconut oil in it. I use to love the one which my mom use to make. Dad used to bring the raw bananas if available in bulk and then she made these delicious chips for us to munch. She used to slice them directly in hot oil and then add saltwater in the hot frying oil. It used to be a long process and a bit tricky as you are dealing with hot oil, but the end results are a good delicious snack.
I have tried frying and making these chips 2-3 times, but for me, the max quantity was 6-7 bananas and nothing more :-). I did not make it more as it is fried, but now my daughter loves this. So I decided to make the baked version. I first tried with a small batch as can be seen and now already made another big batch and while writing too I am munching on this.

Process of Making Banana Chips
To make these chips, you need the firm Raw bananas. First, peel the bananas and immerse them in cold water. I used plain cold tap water. 2 reasons too immerse in water. First, they turn out black immediately and we need to avoid that. Second by immersing the chips will be crisper.

Then I just slice it finely. I have used a grater. Added just 2 tbsp coconut oil, some salt, and pepper. Pepper is optional and one can use any vegetable oil too.
Baking of Banana Chips
Then you arrange them on a baking tray, preferably in a single line not to overcrowd and not overlapping each other. Once done bake in a preheated oven 180 Deg C/400 Deg F for 30-40 minutes turning in between. The baking time will vary depending on the chip size and the tray size on how closely or far they are.
Store this in an airtight container at all times. If after a few hours you feel the chips are soft at all, just let it bake again at a minimum temperature like 50 Deg C/ 120 Deg F for 30 minutes.
