Greek Yogurt With Honey and Walnuts (Yiaourti me Meli)
Third day of the BM theme, Flavours of Greece, I am sharing another healthy recipe, called as Yiaourti me meli - Greek Yogurt with Honey and Walnuts. This Yiaourti me meli is generally served as a dessert after the main meals but this really can be enjoyed any time of the day. For instance Breakfast, or your mid morning or evening Snack.
Work has been crazy at my front in office and home and I am not getting enough time to make some recipes at length. In a way it is good as I am creating some healthy dishes which are no cook and can be made in a jiffy. As said in my earlier post on Greek Salad, that I have a long list of recipes from this cuisine to prepare but I have opted for some easy, quick and healthy bites.
Coming to today's recipe of Greek Yogurt With Honey and Walnuts, I make a similar version but I call it as my 5 min Healthy Greek Yogurt Breakfast Bowls , where my main focus is on fruits and seeds. This recipe of Yiaourti me Meli is literally a 2 min recipe where you are just coating the walnut with honey and adding it to Greek yogurt. What can be more good then to start your day with a bowl of protein rich Greek yogurt , honey and walnuts. And do I say about Walnuts, they provide healthy fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals.
There is no fixed proportions to this recipe. I have adapted this recipe from here, but changed my measurements. . Feel free to adjust to your liking, that is you can add more or less of walnuts, honey as per your taste and a pinch of cinnamon. If you do not like Cinnamon simply do not add. I always use Full fat yogurt, infact I make it at home. If you wish you can use low fat versions too.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Greek Yogurt

- ¼ Cup Walnuts
- a pinch of Cinnamon

Creamy and delicious yogurt based dish. With the honey and walnuts, it looks absolutely amazing.
Homemade yogurt would taste great in this recipe. Looks very creamy. Walnuts add a nice crunch.

A cool, refreshing and healthy dessert to serve during summer. Awesome idea, and can imagine serving it with other nuts and fruits too.
Love the simplicity of this dessert and its a healthy option to those sugary desserts.
This is a perfect dessert for any weather. Yous looks lovelywith the walnuts. We love honey and nuts in our yogurt as it's so helpful for digestion too.
Yogurt are always my favorite and this creamy dessert is already tempting. That walnuts & honey on top makes it all the more drool worthy.
Greek meals often end simply with yogurt and honey or fruit preserve - this light and creamy dessert is perfect for the summer season!
Thank You
Lovely simple recipe....but how do you make Greek yogurt at home ...
When you make yoghurt, let it drain in a muslin cloth in the refrigerator. The whey will separate and you will have thick Greek Style yoghurt. In the refrigerator as it will take a few hours and the yoghurt will get sour outside. Do remember that it will not be similar to shop bought, as they do have setting agents in it.
