Processed Sugar-Free Ragi Ladoos (Finger Millet Energy Bites)
Processed Sugar-Free Ragi Ladoos or Finger Millet Energy Bites is a quick and easy recipe loaded with Calcium, Iron, and all the essential nutrients.

These energy bites are completely free from processed sugar and are Gluten-Free. The sweetness in the recipe comes from dates and dried fruits such as Apricots and Figs.
This is not overly sweet type, but enough to satisfy your sweet cravings. These can be shaped in any form and shared as an edible gift with family and friends.

Ingredients used for Processed Sugar-Free Ragi Ladoos
Ragi or Finger Millet
Ragi is the main ingredient in this Recipe. Also known as nachani or finger millet. A gluten-free millet/whole grain. A rich source of proteins, fibers, and calcium. Believed to be good for constipation, cholesterol, and diabetics. (Source Google).
A great weight-loss food and I have already detailed much about what is Ragi and its origin in this post of mine, Egg-Less, Butter-Less, Chocolate Ragi Brownie.

Dates
Dates act as a natural sweetener in this recipe. A very healthy dry fruit to include in your diet.
They can be incorporated in several different ways in one's diet. Add it to cakes, energy bites, flatbreads, milkshakes, etc. They are high in calories and hence consuming in moderation is important.
Did you try our most popular recipe on the blog, Egg-Less, Sugar-Less, Butter-Less Dates & Walnut Cake? If not give it a try and let me know how it turned out.
Dried Fruits, Nuts & Ghee
Source of essential nutrients and healthy fats. I have added Apricots, Figs, Prunes, and Hazelnuts. All nuts are rich in nutrients and have a high content of protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals.

Replacements
Any nuts can be used. One can add almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pistachios, etc. You would need dates, or raisins to help bind all the ingredients.
Processed Sugar-Free Ragi Ladoos Recipe
Roast the ragi with some ghee. Ghee is optional and one can dry roast it. This will make the ladoos vegan too. Then add all the dry fruits in a food processor and process it until it forms a lump-like dough.
Mix it along with the ragi flour and make a dough. Shape it into round balls, bars, or modak. Enjoy these ladoos as a sugar-free treat as a post-workout snack or your evening snack.

I have just enough ragi flour to make these ragi ladoos. Like that they contain no processed sugar. Also like how you've used a mixture of naturally sweet dried fruits to give it that required sweetness.
