Herbed Cottage Cheese Dip
Fresh herbs can take your dip from tasty to extraordinary with their vibrant, earthy flavors. They add brightness without overpowering the natural sweetness of red peppers.
Herbs to include
- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander, finely chopped, for a mild and grassy flavor.
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped, for a hint of citrusy sharpness.
- 1 teaspoon fresh chives, sliced, to offer a subtle onion-like taste.
- Optional:
- ½ teaspoon of thyme or oregano for a more layered herbal profile.
To make your herbed version: stir the finely chopped herbs into the finished dip, or blend them directly with the other ingredients for a smoother, more cohesive flavor. This variation is perfect for spreading on sandwiches, dolloping over baked potatoes, or serving with veggie sticks for an elevated snack.
Creamy Avocado Addition
Want to make your dip extra creamy? Adding avocado not only enhances the texture but also brings its own rich flavor and healthy fats. The smoothness of avocado pairs beautifully with the tangy cottage cheese and smoky roasted peppers.
How to incorporate avocado:
- Add ½ of a ripe avocado, peeled and pitted, directly to the blender with the other ingredients.
- For extra zest, include ½ teaspoon of lime juice to preserve the avocado’s vibrant green color and add a touch of brightness.
- Fresh ginger for that additional kick.
Optional:
- A pinch of cumin can introduce a subtle warmth that complements the creaminess.
This creamy version is ideal for dipping tortilla chips, spreading on toast, or serving as a sauce for grilled chicken. The avocado not only upgrades the texture but also makes the dip feel indulgent yet wholesome.
